Jennifer Bedoya, MSN, APRN, FNP-C is a highly skilled Family Nurse Practitioner who is dedicated in providing quality healthcare services to her patients. She is a certified FNP with the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and holds an active Massachusetts CNP license and RN license. Additionally, she has DEA prescribing and dispensing authority and an active Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration (MCSR).
Jennifer earned her BSN, RN in December 2019, and her MSN in May 2021, both from Regis College in Weston, MA. She also has a degree in Health Sciences & Biology from Emmanuel College in Boston, MA, which she earned in May 2015.
Jennifer's professional experience includes working as an FNP at Today's Wellness Primary Care in Stoneham, MA, where she manages a primary care office and provides comprehensive primary care services to adults. She assesses, diagnoses, and treats acute and severe illnesses, manages multiple comorbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, A-fib, heart failure, and mental health conditions, provides annual checkups and routine health screenings, and coordinates and sees follow-ups and sick visits. She also orders blood work as needed and interprets results, counsels’ patients on lifestyle changes to prevent diseases and prevent further complications of current diseases, coordinates care with other physicians and specialists as needed.
Prior to her current position, Jennifer worked as an FNP at OccMed Consulting and Injury Care in Boston, MA, where she provided care for a range of injuries and conditions. She performed laceration repairs, wound care, suture removal, and burn treatment and assessed, diagnosed, and treated head injuries, back pain, ankle sprains, knee pain/injury, elbow pain/injury, and wrist pain. She also assessed and removed foreign bodies from corneas, performed physicals for return-to-work or new placements, conducted neuro exams, and reviewed X-ray and MRI results. Jennifer educated patients about at-home rehab therapy techniques with Theraballs and TheraBands, determined work status ability, advocated for patients who needed to be on light duty at work, and encouraged healthy lifestyle measures. Additionally, she performed face mask criteria physicals and referred patients to surgery specialists.
Jennifer has also worked as a medical assistant at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, MA, where she assisted an NP directly with inpatient needs. She took vitals, reviewed medical histories, documented symptoms/complaints, set up procedures, performed UA's, pregnancy testing, strep cultures, and STD testing, updated medical records, refilled medications, and aided with all appropriate paperwork sending or filing. She also contacted patients for follow-up regarding medications, test results, and triage needs.
Jennifer has gained valuable clinical experience through a variety of rotations. She completed an NP Clinical Preceptorship at Easton and Hingham Medical Aesthetics in MA, where she assisted an NP with neurotoxin injections, Juvederm lip and cheek fillers, facials including hydrafacials and PRP facials, PRP hair injections, virtue RF microneedling, dermaplaning, chemical peels, and IV therapy. She also gave vitamin injections such as B12 and fat burner lipo 10B and assisted in charting EMRs.
Jennifer has also completed clinical rotations in family medicine, primary care, pediatric inpatient care, maternity and neonatal care, acute and complex care on a busy GU/GI unit, traveling psychiatric and dual diagnosis care, mental health and rehabilitation, and adult female inpatient and outpatient health clinic care.
